Stefano Grasso

Stefano Grasso is an italian drummer and percussionist based in Basel, Switzerland.
He performs in different musical fields, performing with bands and songwriters trough Europe, US and Argentina.
With some of this projects he releases albums published from both italian and foreign labels.
His main interest though has always been on places that included a high rate of improvisation, dealing with creative and improvised music and considering also compositional research as a possible and parallel way to explore this fields. 
He is member and co-funder of Conserere, a collective based in Milan that operates in spreading the practice and performance of improvised music.
Aside his academic path through classical-contemporary percussions, his studying of the drumset brings him to consider this instrument as the best way to express his worldview.
