Rogé Verstraete

Since more than 15 years El Negocito has been a platform for improvisation, improvisers and performances in the Unesco Creative City of Gent, Belgium. The vision and focus is artist based, partially artist driven and aims to connect a broader public to improvisation as an art form. For this we diverse our strategies with notably a concert program in less ‘usual’ places like public domain under the banner of Citadelic and a label called el NEGOCITO Records.

We work with a collective of musicians from Belgium: Bart Maris, Seppe Gebruers, Peter Jacquemyn, Paul Van Gysegem and Raf Vertessen closely… but have active relations with a big part of the scene in Belgium and abroad.
