Marco Pennelli

Marco Pennelli was born in Bari in Southern Italy, he began studying the piano when he was 10 and then moved on to drums when he was 25 under the guidance of Michele Di Monte. Always interested in improvisational languages starting from Jazz in its various forms up to instant composition. In his performances he mainly plays the drums with the addition of mini keyboards and open source digital systems to generate particular synthetic sounds and effects.

Marco currently plays in a collective called "Suoni Visionari" directed by saxophonist Felice Mezzina, a project based on free improvisation that draws on different genres and which includes musicians such as trombonist Michele Lomuto.
