Gregory Kharaneka (1994) is a musician who transforms the saxophone into an instrument of improvisational and contemporary music. His performances are a journey into the world of the full spectrum of saxophone sounds and experiments with timbral diversity. Playing with contrasting tones and meticulous control, Gregory aims to expand the perception of sound. He invites his audience on a voyage into a realm of sonic objects, where each sound becomes a part of a remarkable musical landscape.

Having completed his master's degree at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Gregory continues his musical education in a doctoral program, exploring the development of saxophone timbre in new music genres. You may have heard his performances at prestigious venues and festivals in Lithuania, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, and Belgium, including Vilnius Jazz, Mama Jazz Festival, the Into the Open Music Festival in Berlin, the ECLAT Festival in Stuttgart, collaboration with International Ensemble Modern Academy from Frankfurt and others. He is the recipient of two prestigious awards - the "Wildcard" and "Audience Award" at the 2024 René Arons International Improvisation Competition in Antwerp, Belgium
