Minsk Improvisers Orchestra

Minsk Improvisers Orchestra (МІО) is an open community, where we create music spontaneously, here and now, basing on free improvisation. The project was launched in April 2018 by the accordionist Alexey Vorsoba and supported by art platform KORPUS in Minsk. 

We make music without any notes and styles, using text or graphic notation, and techniques of conducted improvisation. We find inspiration in works by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Butch Morris, Krzysztof Knittel, John Cage, Brian Eno, Barry Guy, Pauline Oliveros, in the method of soundpainting, and also in music-making of improvisers orchestras from other countries. 

The orchestra is always open for collaboration with new musicians, conductors, composers, who use free improvisation in their work.
