Stefano Grasso is a drummer and percussionist based in Basel, Switzerland.
He has played for years in very different musical genres, performing with bands and songwriters trough Italy and Europe. With some of this projects he releases albums published from both italian and foreign labels.
His main interest in the musical field has always focused on places that included a high rate of improvisation.
Nowadays, he is focusing on projects that deal with creative and improvised music, considering also compositional research as a possible and parallel way to explore this fields.
He is member and co-funder of Conserere, a collective based in Milan that operates in spreading the collective practice and performance of improvised music.
Aside his academic path through classical-contemporary percussions, his studying of the drumset brings him to consider this instrument as the best way to express his worldview.
