Simona Castria
Simona delved into music early, starting with the piano and later drawn to the captivating tones of the saxophone. Trained in Italy, Belgium, and France, she passionately integrates multicultural richness into her music. In 2019, she obtained a master's in saxophone from the Paris Conservatory, where her focus shifted to improvised and contemporary music. Fascinated by multidisciplinary collaboration, Simona frequently collaborates across theater, visual arts, and lighting. She is a member of the saxophone quartet Ensemble du Bout du Monde, the trio L'Impolie (sax, electric guitar, accordion), and collaborates with diverse ensembles like Ensemble Intercontemporain, LIKEN ensemble, and orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali. Beyond performances, Simona channels her musical passion into teaching, leading the saxophone studio at Gennevilliers’ Conservatory. Her journey reflects a blend of diverse influences, enriching her artistic choices and resonating through her vibrant collaborations and educational endeavors.
