Francesco Colocci

BIO

Francesco Colocci is a musician, composer and educator based in Copenhagen. Free improvisation has been and continues to be the leitmotif of his musical journey. He constantly explores sonic frontiers on the guitar and in composition, pushing beyond traditional constraints to define new musical and artistic horizons. He collaborates with improvisers from across Europe in the creation of innovative music and performance approaches. He performed in concerts in Europe as a soloist, in duos, with classical and electric ensembles. He wrote pieces for solo guitar, instrumental ensembles, big band, vocal ensembles, pop music songs, electronic music pieces, music for theater, for performances, for animation movies and children's songs. He has always been interested in improvisation and musical creation, in all its possibilities for education and in relation to other art forms. He is constantly searching for new educational approaches that can facilitate musical learning in the discovery of each student's own musical identity. Multi-instrumentalist continuously seeking new sound challenges to expand artistic horizons in the world and in connection with people. The research focus in the last period can be summarized in the acronym DEI, diversity, exploration and inclusion. The creation of dynamic art that can actively bring value to contemporary society.
